The Director of Development is responsible for implementing a broad range of fundraising activities for the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering, focused primarily on acquiring major gifts for the Department of Industrial & Systems Engineering (ISE) and the Department of Chemical Engineering (CHE). Reporting to the Senior Director of Development, ECE/CISE, this position is responsible for developing and executing the college’s fundraising program to fulfill the financial needs in alignment with the strategic initiatives of University of Florida Advancement.
Minimum Requirements: Master's degree in appropriate area of specialization and three years of appropriate experience in Development or a related field; or a bachelor's degree in appropriate areas of specialization and five years of experience in Development or a related field.
Preferred qualifications: The ideal candidate will possess:
- Three to five years of major gift fundraising experience with documented success in cultivating and soliciting major gifts of $100,000 and above from individual and corporate prospects with campaign experience.
- Prior experience in a college or university setting, enthusiasm for fundraising in a comprehensive research university, and the desire to work collegially within a goal-oriented fundraising organization.
- Knowledge of fundraising principles, methods, and standards.Expertise in developing solicitation strategies.

The Assistant Director of Membership & Annual Giving directly manages a portfolio of marketing projects for UF Alumni Association membership and the annual giving program including, but is not limited to membership direct marketing appeals, annual giving direct marketing appeals, and special campaigns. Reporting to the Director of Annual Giving Programs, this position will manage relationships with central and partner units to effectively and efficiently leverage data to drive decision making and strategy. Additionally, the Assistant Director will also support fundraising activities for special audiences, such as families, as well as other special campaigns as they arise.
Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and one year of relevant experience.
Preferred qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- 1-2 years of annual giving, membership, direct mail programs, or event planning.
- Prior experience in development or related fields.
- Prior experience developing and implementing special campaigns including social media and email marketing.
- Knowledge of annual giving within philanthropy.
- Ability to work collaboratively and a team player.
- Proven project management, time management, and organizational skills.
- Competency in problem solving.
- Outstanding customer service skills; ability to cultivate and maintain positive relationships with both external and internal constituents.

The Development Coordinator will provide high level development and project management support to the Senior Director of Development & External Relations (Senior DOD) in the George A. Smathers Libraries at the University of Florida. Reporting to the Senior Director of Development & External Relations, this position serves as the administrative liaison between the Libraries Development Office, faculty and staff and UF Advancement. Coordinates multiple projects and supports a variety of administrative needs for the Libraries Development Office and Dean of University Libraries. Occasional driving and travel is expected and part of the job duties.
To support all students, staff and faculty, and foster excellence in a diverse and collaborative society, the Libraries are actively seeking candidates who bring culturally-rich lived experiences to work with individuals of diverse backgrounds, experiences, races, ethnicities, genders, sexual orientation, and perspectives.
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred qualifications:
- Ability and willingness to deliver materials by walking and driving. A valid driver license and good driving record are essential*
- Five years of high-level administrative experience, preferably supporting top level executives in development, fundraising, alumni relations and/or higher education.
- Proven ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Excellent organizational skills and analytical skills with ability to work on projects with competing deadlines and to establish goals and workload priorities.
- Ability to work independently with a high level of accuracy and accountability.
- Experience working effectively and cooperatively as part of a team - providing and receiving feedback to ensure successful completion of projects and tasks.
