The Executive Director, Annual Giving serves on the Alumni Relations & Annual Giving leadership team and provides oversight and management of special events and campaigns for the UF Alumni Association. The Executive Director oversees the development and implementation of a comprehensive annual giving direct marketing strategy for the University of Florida and guides the creation of targeted strategies with unit partners across campus, including the UF Alumni Association. The Executive Director is responsible for developing an annual plan focused on growing alumni participation while maintaining pro-active working relationships with all units and ensuring that goals are reached annually.
 
Minimum Requirements: Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and six years of appropriate experience in alumni affairs or related field; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and eight years of appropriate experience in alumni affairs or related field.
 
Preferred qualifications: The ideal candidate will possess: Six to eight years of managing high performing annual giving, membership or direct marketing teams. Prior experience in a college or university setting, enthusiasm for fundraising in a comprehensive research university, and the desire to work collegially within a goal-oriented fundraising organization Knowledge of annual giving within philanthropy. Knowledge of fundraising principles, methods and standards. Experience with creating and executing annual giving strategies driving revenue and alumni participation rate and knowledge of best practices within those spaces. Ability to think creatively and create innovative annual giving strategies to achieve goals.

Portfolio Management Responsible for the design and implementation of the development and alumni programs. Independently perform identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of major gift prospects ($100,000 and above), with a focus on individual prospects. Work with leadership to engage and cultivate corporate and foundation prospects where the gift or grant is assessed at $100,000 and above. Serving as a member of the UF Advancement and UF Health development leadership teams, the Assistant Vice President (AVP) for the College of Medicine will assist in managing the College of Medicine's portion of the university's fundraising campaign. In this role, the incumbent will be responsible for implementing programs and infrastructure in support of UF Health and will help oversee select campaign initiatives. He or she will serve as a member of the leadership team that helps lead fundraising programs that will unite stakeholders behind a vision for philanthropy in UF Health. Reporting to the Senior Associate Vice President & Chief Advancement Officer (SRAVP/CAO) for UF Health, this position will collaborate with key partners relating, but not limited to annual giving, grateful patients, stewardship, and communications and will work closely with the research team to identify new prospects. He or she will manage a high-level portfolio of leadership and principal gift prospects ($1M+), and will manage his/her team and inspire a culture of high performance, collegiality and professionalism throughout the organization.
 
Minimum Requirements: Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and eight years of appropriate experience; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and ten years of appropriate experience with demonstrated success soliciting gifts at $1 million and above in an institution of higher education.
 
Preferred qualifications: The ideal candidate will possess: A proven strategic leader with a history of successful higher education program leadership in alumni relations, development, or marketing/communications. Seven to ten years of major gift fundraising experience with documented success in cultivating and soliciting major gifts of $100,000 and above from individual and corporate prospects with campaign experience. Prior experience in a college or university setting, enthusiasm for fundraising in a comprehensive research university, and the desire to work collegially within a goal-oriented fundraising organization. Knowledge of fundraising principles, methods, and standards. Familiarity with the philanthropic culture and character of UF Health is preferable, as is a demonstrated appreciation for the unique role that healthcare, particularly hospitals, play in the larger context of the community and the overall state of healthcare.
