The Gifts & Records Specialist is a highly visible and responsible position that provides independent judgment and critical thinking for the management of corporate matching gift claims.  Reporting to the Associate Director of Gifts & Records, this position will disseminate information to the Gifts & Records team and serve as a unit resource for databases, websites, word processing, reporting, policies, and procedures.
 
Minimum Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent and two years of relevant experience.
 
Preferred qualifications:

 

  • Two years of gift processing experience, or a combination of education and experience in a professional, customer service, team-oriented environment.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting policies and procedures.
  • Ability to use sound judgment and exercise strict confidentiality and discretion in all matters.
  • Data entry, proofreading, grammar, and spelling skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently with minimum supervision.
  • Demonstrated commitment to provide excellent customer service and promote positive interaction between operations and professional staff as well as internally.
  • Ability to do in-depth research and follow-up.
  • Ability to keyboard or type 45 accurate words per minute.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills. 
  • Experience in a professional, customer service, team-oriented environment.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal abilities, and the capacity to engage effectively and collaboratively with a wide range of individuals are essential.

The Director/Senior Director of Development for Regional Development, MidAtlantic/Southeastern US will serve as a key advancement leader, responsible for cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donors with the capacity to make major and principal gifts of $100,000 and above. This role is instrumental in driving philanthropic investment in the University of Florida’s highest priorities and strategic initiatives.
 
Minimum Requirements: Senior Director: Master’s degree in appropriate area of specialization and six years of appropriate experience; or a bachelor’s degree in appropriate areas of specialization and eight years of experience.
Director: Master’s degree in appropriate area of specialization and three years of appropriate experience in development or a related field; or a bachelor’s degree in appropriate areas of specialization and five years of experience in development or a related field.
 
Preferred qualifications:

The ideal candidate will posess:

  • At least eight years of major gift fundraising experience with documented success in cultivating and soliciting major gifts of $100,000 and above from individual and corporate prospects with campaign experience.
  • Prior experience in a college or university setting, enthusiasm for fundraising in a comprehensive research university, and the desire to work collegially within a goal-oriented fundraising organization.
  • Knowledge of fundraising principles, methods, and standards.
  • Expertise in developing solicitation strategies.
  • The ability to work strategically, develop and implement constituency programs and activities, along with a talent for motivating volunteers.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal abilities, and the capacity to engage effectively and collaboratively with a wide range of individuals are essential.
  • Support the University’s commitment to creating a respectful and collaborative work environment that values integrity, professionalism, and mutual respect in all interactions; demonstrated success collaborating with stakeholders; competency in problem solving; strong project management skills; experience in a data-driven environment; and excellent organizational abilities.

The Assistant Director is responsible for the management of events for the Office of Special Events & Engagement. Reporting to the Senior Director, this highly visible and responsible position, will plan and execute events that directly impact the Office of the Vice President for UF Advancement (UFA), University of Florida Foundation (UFF) Board Events, and development special events. This position ensures that all events align with institutional goals, foster stakeholder engagement and reflect the university’s standard of excellence. Additionally, the Assistant Director will handle event operations, manage vendor relationships and foster cross-functional collaboration while maintaining fiscal responsibility in event design and execution. The ideal candidate will be a team-oriented and experienced event professional who demonstrates creativity and initiative and desires to work in a fast-paced, fulfilling environment
 
Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and one year of experience.
 
Preferred qualifications:

The ideal candidate will posess:

  • Bachelor’s degree in events management.
  • Prior experience in development, fundraising, alumni relations or higher education.
  • Prior experience in event planning, public relations, marketing.
  • Prior project management experience.
  • Prior experience working with vendors and contracts.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Must take initiative, possess strong work ethic, and demonstrate the ability to handle a demanding workload while managing various multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and a team player.
  • Competency in problem solving
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to meet deadlines, ability to work independently and problem-solving capabilities.
