Assistant Director of Development - Annual Giving

Reporting to the Director of Development, Annual Giving, the Leadership Annual Giving Officer (LAGO)will be focused on qualifying and soliciting leadership annual giving prospects ($1,000-$10,000). The incumbent will identify, cultivate, solicit and steward donors by engaging prospects through a variety of mediums (face-to-face, phone or in writing). He or she will also be assigned a special project in conjunction with the phonathon program that serves to facilitate leadership annual giving and pipeline development, such as visit scheduling and gift planning. Additionally, the LAGO will periodically be tasked with special fundraising projects in particular areas, such as parents or student affairs. The LAGO will also work closely with the Office of Gift Planning to support their lead generation and prospect discovery/qualification processes. This position requires significant travel by automobile; maintaining an acceptable driving record that meets insurance requirements and an active Florida driver license must be maintained in order to meet this function.
 
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and one year of relevant experience and/or a strong understanding of development processes and comprehensive campaigns.
 
Preferred qualifications: Minimum one year of fundraising, development, sales or related experience. Prior experience in a university or nonprofit environment. Prior experience in advertising and marketing. General knowledge and understanding of business/economic environment. Understanding of fundraising principles, methods, and standards.

Executive Director of Advancement - Education

The Senior Director of Advancement is responsible for the management and administration of the College of Education development and support program. The incumbent is responsible for the implementation of a broad range of public support programs for the College of Education including fundraising, communications, alumni relations, public support groups and college services. Portfolio Management Identification, cultivation, and solicitation of new prospects $100,000 and above for the College of Education. Build a portfolio of fundraising prospects and strategically manage relationships through face-to-face visits to bring gift solicitations to closure. A minimum of 15 individual face-to-face visits will be required each month, with specific data input for each visit entered into the system by month?s end. Attend college and UF Advancement (UFA) functions primarily to identify new prospects. Strategic Initiatives Direct the planning and implementation of all fundraising and alumni activities for the College. Serve as advisor to the Dean of the College on fundraising matters and coordinates development activities between the College and UFA. Strategic Leadership Manage the operations of the Development, Private Grants, and Alumni Relations functions of the College of Education; hires, supervises and evaluates staff; oversees maintenance of files, contact reports and records associated with these activities. Responsible for effective prospect tracking, record keeping, reporting and administration aligned with the metrics and reporting from the College of Education and UFA. Build, manage and lead a strong team of development professionals. Identify and recruit top talent and provide leadership, counsel on matters relating to fundraising, and accountability including establishing goals in alignment with unit objectives, developing metrics and strategic planning. In addition, incumbent will attend senior development meetings.
 
Minimum Requirements: Master's degree in appropriate area of specialization and six years of appropriate experience or a bachelor's degree in appropriate areas of specialization and eight years of experience.
 
Preferred qualifications: The ideal candidate will possess: Five to six years of fundraising experience with proven success soliciting gifts of $50,000+. Prior experience in a college or university setting, enthusiasm for fundraising in a comprehensive research university, and the desire to work collegially within a goal-oriented fundraising organization. Knowledge of fundraising principles, methods, and standards. Expertise in developing solicitation strategies.

The Director of Donor Relations will be a visible leader for all stewardship and donor recognition programs. Preferred qualifications: Five years of experience in a comprehensive stewardship/donor relations program or development, alumni or university relations program with proven leadership success. Experience in a related field such as journalism, public relations or other related communication field in a university setting preferred. Prior management/supervisory experience, with the ability to lead and motivate staff preferred. Prior experience in a college or university setting, enthusiasm for fundraising in a comprehensive research university, and the desire to work collegially within a goal-oriented fundraising organization.
