The Assistant Director of Development, Biomedical Engineering (BME) will focus on fundraising for the J. Clayton Pruitt Family Department of Biomedical Engineering through personal contacts and facilitation of events that assist the development effort. This position will identify prospects, cultivate and close both annual giving and mid-range gifts. The successful candidate will serve as a strategic partner with the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering and UF Advancement ensuring conformity with the central fundraising efforts and the overall university development and alumni program goals and in promoting a culture of philanthropy by broadening constituents' understanding of the value of giving.
 
Minimum Requirements: Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and one year of relevant experience.
 
Preferred qualifications: One to three years fundraising experience with proven success soliciting gifts of $1,000-$5,000 strongly preferred. Experience in development, alumni affairs, education, public relations, external affairs and/or higher education. Prior experience in a college or university setting, enthusiasm for fundraising in a comprehensive research university and the desire to work collegially within a goal-oriented fundraising organization. Knowledge of fundraising principles, methods, and standards. Expertise in developing solicitation strategies. Experience in development and alumni relations and/or external affairs. Demonstrated accomplishment in fostering productive relationships with volunteers and developing volunteer leadership.

The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS) is seeking an Executive Director of Advancement. This position is responsible for assisting the Assistant Vice President for Advancement in leading a comprehensive philanthropy program. Incumbent will also be responsible for developing and executing the College's fundraising program to fulfill the financial needs as identified by the Dean and Assistant Vice President of Advancement and in alignment with the strategic initiatives of CLAS and UF Advancement. He or she will serve as a strategic partner ensuring conformity with the central fundraising efforts and the university's development and alumni programs with the goal to promote a culture of philanthropy by broadening constituents' understanding of the value of giving.
 
Minimum Requirements: Master's degree in appropriate area of specialization and eight years of appropriate experience; or a bachelor's degree in appropriate areas of specialization and ten years of experience. Valid Florida driver's license
 
Preferred qualifications: 3+ years' experience leading a high performing team of 3+, including prior management of development officers. Track record of recruiting, developing, and retaining a high caliber staff, building a team, and creatively organizing and managing them to maximize the support of external constituencies. Excellent organizational and operational skills; confidence and independence in exercising leadership skills and in representing the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences to external constituents. Demonstrated ability to support College of Liberal Arts & Sciences' mission, particularly in managing the responsibilities of the department, including strategic and operational planning at the department level as well as establishing metrics and processes to monitor and evaluate operational performance outcomes and implement performance improvement initiatives when required.

Corporate & Foundation Portfolio Management Build and manage a portfolio of corporate and foundation prospects of all capacities with a focus on proposals between $10,000 and $250,000. Identify, cultivate, and solicit corporate and foundation prospects that align with the needs, priorities, and research of UF Health (including all six colleges, and two hospital campuses). Seek guidance from the Senior Director for proposals at or above $250,000. Draft, edit, and submit proposals and other funding opportunities according to the requirements and processes established for each individual funding institution. Project Management Actively monitor proposal progression, including, but not limited to, processing letters of agreement, tracking proposals from submission to decision, meeting post-funding reporting deadlines, and responding to funding institution requests for additional information as necessary. Act as an intermediary between UF Health faculty/physicians and funding institutions as necessary, ensuring that all appropriate stakeholders are aware of and engaged in the proposal process. Proactively communicate with funding institutions regarding deadlines, submissions, and other needs. Attend events as a representative for the University, UF Health, and/or UF Advancement. Strategic Initiatives & Collaboration Engage colleagues across the UF Advancement community in an effort to build, maintain, and invest in professional relationships that allow for collaboration as opportunities allow. Partner with peers within the UF Health Office of Advancement in order to gain an understanding of their priorities and seek partnerships that positively impact philanthropic priorities. Contribute to a culture of philanthropy at UF Health through regular meetings with faculty and physicians to discuss funding priorities, provide insight on how to leverage corporate and foundation relationships, and encourage a deeper understanding of philanthropic support.
 
Minimum Requirements: Master's degree in an appropriate area and one year of relevant experience; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and three years of relevant experience.
 
Preferred qualifications: The ideal candidate will possess: Two to three years of major gift fundraising experience in corporate and foundation relations is strongly preferred. Prior experience in a university or nonprofit environment. General knowledge and understanding of business/economic environment. Knowledge of fundraising principles, methods, and standards. Demonstrated successful experience in prospect identification, relationship building, solicitation and stewardship. The ability to work strategically, develop and implement constituency programs and activities, along with a talent for motivating volunteers.

The Coordinator of Sponsorship and Annual Giving (Development Coordinator) will report to the Director of Advancement. This position maintains a development portfolio. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and execution of acquisition, retention, and stewardship programs for UF Performing Arts Affiliates and Sponsors. This position will contribute to the development of additional fundraising initiatives as needed. Affiliate Membership Execute and annual plan for the Affiliate Membership program including strategies for solicitation, engagement and stewardship. Manage and execute direct marketing campaigns aimed at acquiring new Affiliate members and upgrading and/or pledging current members. Manage and coordinate engagement strategies for Affiliate Members. Oversee the stewardship strategy and implementation, including perks, for Affiliate Members. Coordination of gift/income processing, ensuring all monetary handling protocols are followed and reconciling deposits. Event and Project Management Coordinate the planning of donor events including intermission receptions, meet and greets, Director?s Dinner, Season Preview, Gala and other opportunities for engagement. Reconcile and process expenditures including purchase orders, Pcard purchases, and invoices. In collaboration with the Director of Advancement and the Director, support the UF Performing Arts presentations, scheduling, catering, and other event related items. Manage invitation lists and RSVPs for President?s Box and other central development functions. Generate weekly gift report for Director and facilitate donor thank you process. Work with Box Office and Marketing to keep accurate records of annual donors and gifts through multiple databases.
 
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
 
Preferred qualifications: The ability to communicate clearly and effectively with diverse constituencies, meet deadlines, be self-motivated and work independently. Experience in sales, event planning, or alumni outreach helpful. Strong writing and editing skills. Database management and prospect research desirable. Off campus travel may be required.

Strong familiarity with standard research resources and information such as LinkedIn, Advizor, Lexis Nexis, iWave, SEC filings and wealth screenings. Proficient with Advance (or comparable alumni/donor database) and thorough understanding of the reports produced by and for prospect management purposes.
