The Center for European Studies was established in 2003 and is funded, in part, under Title VI of the Higher Education Act as a National Resource Center on Europe. The Center directs, develops, and coordinates interdisciplinary instruction, research, and outreach on Europe and houses the first and only Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence for the study of the European Union (funded by the Commission of the European Union) in the United States.
