Ocala Arabian Horse Association Scholarship Fund

History

The Ocala Arabian Horse Association (OAHA) spearheaded the campaign establishing this fund in 2000. The endowment promotes the OAHA and the Arabian horse while fostering the increase of talented veterinarians in the Ocala area. OAHA, a non-profit organization, was formed in 1994 to encourage and promote interest in the Arabian horse through educational programs, publicity and horse shows.

Criteria

One or more Doctor of Veterinary Medicine students who have demonstrated a financial need and have interest in equine medicine; preference to students who are members or have family who are members of a Florida Arabian horse club; students must write an essay describing their interest in equine health care, why they should be considered and their goals for a career in veterinary medicine; hopefully students will practice in Marion County after graduation.
