Ruth and Gerry Hartman Scholarship
History
Ruth and Gerry Hartman established this scholarship in 2002 to benefit students in the Physician Assistant program at the University of Florida. Ruth earned her associate's degree in Interior Design. Her husband, Gerry received both his bachelor's and master's degrees in engineering from Duke University. The Hartman's established this award in honor of their daughter, Alexandra L. Shigo, a 2004 graduate of the University of Florida's Physician Assistant Program. Alexandra also received her bachelor's degree in health science education from the University of Florida in 2000.
Criteria
Students pursuing a degree in the Physician Assistant Program, with preference to students with a health science degree from the College of Public Health and Health Professions; may be renewed for 2nd year. Award shall defray costs including tuition, fees and books.
