Ibanez-Vargo Scholarship

History

Dr. Julio Ibanez, charter class of 1980, feels his life is a gift, the byproduct of caring friends and dedicated professionals who encouraged him and taught him what he knows about veterinary medicine. Today, his passion is giving back to veterinary students in hopes their lives will be perhaps just a little easier.

The Ibanez-Vargo Scholarship was initiated by a gift from the estate of Gloria C. Vargo of Miami, Florida. Ms. Vargo was a long-time client of Dr. Ibanez and when she prepared her will, she asked that a portion of her estate be designated to an accredited school of veterinary medicine to be selected by Dr. Ibanez to provide assistance to a student to help defray the cost of tuition, books or room, board, etc. Dr. Ibanez fulfilled that charge by completing the endowment of this scholarship with personal gifts.
