Endowed Scholarships & Fellowships

Doris Lowe and Earl and Verna Lowe Scholarship Fund
History
Doris Lowe created this scholarship fund in 1986 to honor her father's dream of creating a scholarship in gratitude for the help he received from the University of Florida's Extension Service. In 1926, Earl Lowe and his wife, Verna, moved to Palm Beach County, Fla., where they raised their family. During the Depression, Lowe used the services of the Agricultural Extension Service at UF to help him find productive farming methods for his truck farm and chicken farm. Through this assistance and the faithful support of his wife, Lowe succeeded in establishing a home and raising a family. Earl passed away in 1977 and Verna in 1983.
