Haufler Psychiatry Fund

History

Gainesville native Eugene B. Haufler was a dedicated businessman and president of Haufler Construction Company, Inc. He received numerous awards in the field of agriculture and served on the University of Florida Seed Foundation as a member of the board of directors.

Annette W. Haufler, wife of Eugene, was a former president of the State Agriculture Extension Office Homemaker's Group. A prominent volunteer in the community, she was a member of Alachua General Hospital Auxiliary, the Tree City Quilter's Guild, the First Christian Church and CWF, a women's church group at the First Christian Church. Annette passed away in 1999 and Eugene passed away in 2004.

This endowment was established in honor of the Hauflers through an anonymous donation.

Criteria

Fourth-year medical student demonstrating excellence who is planning a career in psychiatry.

Application Information

Award is conferred to qualified recipient graduating with the highest class GPA. Contact the Office of Student Affairs and Registration in the College of Medicine.
