He or she will manage a staff of six employees including four development professionals and two administrative support staff. Preferred qualifications: 10 years of successful major gift fundraising experience in a college or university setting is strongly preferred. This highly visible position is responsible for management of all alumni programming and requires extensive travel throughout the state of Florida and the nation to represent the University of Florida and the UF Alumni Association. The incumbent in this position formulates and recommends policy concerning alumni interests and involvement with the University. The incumbent formulates, directs and implements policies on a broad range of programs for the University of Florida and the UF Alumni Association. The incumbent will work extensively with volunteers and oversees the following Alumni programs: Membership, National Merit Scholar recruitment, Gator Clubs, Special Events designed to promote the academic and non-academic alumni activities of the University, Outreach Programs, Alumni Publications, Back to College, Florida Young and Involved, Travel Programs, Marketing Programs and Student Programs. Minimum requirements: Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and six years of appropriate experience; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and eight years of appropriate experience required. Preferred qualifications: The incumbent should have senior management experience and experience working with volunteers in a university setting and Alumni Affairs experience is preferred. Should be creative and possess problem-solving skills, work well with others in a team-oriented organization.
