Reichert House Scholarship Fund

History

This fund was established in 2005 by the Black on Black Crime Task Force. The Reichert House is an after school program designed for youth who are in need of assistance in making the transition from adolescence to adulthood. The Reichert House is operated in a Para Military fashion, as a unit of the Young Marines program. The program has a middle school and separate high school component and offers a combination of discipline, work and social and recreational activities which foster a balanced environment for those enrolled.

Criteria

UF students with preference to graduates of the Reichert House; second preference to students from the Gainesville area with impoverished backgrounds. If no Reichert House graduate has applied for funding, the funds should be reinvested in the account.
