Ruth L. Pugsley Memorial Fund
History
Patricia Milesi created this fund as a tribute to her mother, Ruth L. Pugsley. Born on June 6, 1905 in Uniontown, PA, Ruth was one of the largest contributors to University of Florida's National Merit Scholarship program. She wrote in her will, "It is my hope and desire that the individuals receiving these scholarships will feel a moral obligation and appreciation for the funds and shall later in life attempt to assist other worthy students who are in financial need." On Christmas Eve of 1984, Ruth peacefully passed away.
Criteria
Deserving students who have shown scholastic achievement and demonstrate financial need.
