Latin Builders Association Scholarship for Ethical Development
History
This scholarship was established in 2000 by the Latin Builders Association, Inc. The Latin Builders Association (LBA) is a non-profit corporation organized in 1971 by a small group of Latin sub-contractors to provide its members with representatives at all levels of the construction industry. LBA now has more than 700 members. They represent a cross section of builders, developers, general contractors, suppliers, sub-contractors, bankers, professionals and others in related service industries in Miami-Dade County. The organization provides need-based scholarships to undergraduate students at the University of Florida with preference to those studying real estate, finance and/or building construction and who are dependents of active, paid members of the Latin Builders Association.
Criteria
Undergraduate business students at UF, with preference to those studying real estate, finance and/or any career related to building construction; must have financial need, at least one credit hour of business ethics and documented community service. Consideration to children or dependents of active, paid members of the Latin American Builders Association or other member firms.
