History
Alene S. Long, who passed away in 1996, founded the Roger Long Scholarship to commemorate her husband and strengthen UF’s standing as a leading institution of higher learning. Roger Long graduated from UF in 1951 with a bachelor's degree in liberal arts and sciences. He served as Student Orientation director in the 1950s and authored a number of articles for UF about campus life and special events.
Aubrey Wise, who passed away in 1996, established the William J. and Aubrey C. Wise Scholarship Fund. Her estate also created similar scholarships at Florida State University, the University of Dayton (Ohio) and Nova Southeastern University. Through her generosity, Aubrey Wise significantly influenced education as well as the lives of many individuals throughout the country.

National Merit Scholars.
