Endowed Scholarships & Fellowships

A. Ross and Cora B. Evans Endowed Scholarship Fund
History
A. Ross and Cora B. Evans of Winter Park funded this endowment in 1997 to provide scholarships, based on need and merit, to students enrolled in the College of Business Administration. Ross Evans was a UF business student during the Depression but had to leave school due to financial hardship. Later, with the aid of a scholarship, he returned and earned a degree in education followed by a Master's in Business Administration from Columbia University. His business background led him to a career as a professor of finance and accounting, serving two years on the University of Florida faculty. Later, he taught both graduate and undergraduate students for over 30 years at Rollins College before retiring in 1984. He also maintained a private accounting practice from 1948-84. His early struggles combined with his love of teaching and love for the University provided the inspiration to establish this scholarship.
