Fin Jorgensen Memorial Scholarship Fund
History
Fin Jorgensen was an active alumnus and an avid fan of the UF football team. Family members established this scholarship in his memory after he died in a plane accident while en route to the 1992 Southeastern Conference championship football game.
A native of Miami, Fla., Jorgensen attended American High School. He graduated from UF in 1987 with a degree in computer and information sciences from the Warrington College of Business Administration. After graduating, he was employed with Arthur Andersen Consulting.
Criteria
Full-time undergraduates who earned diplomas from Dade County high schools and demonstrated leadership in high school (or college, if applicable); must have financial need, at least one credit hour of business ethics and documented community service. Preference given to graduates of American High School, Palm Springs North, 18350 Northwest 67 Ave., Miami, Fla.
