Sue Young Scholarship

History

Sue Young, wife of Dr. Charles Young, was UF's First Lady from 2000-01. She died in 2001 after a long battle with cancer. She was an accomplished poet and lyricist, and was the author of The New Comprehensive American Rhyming Dictionary and The Scholastic Rhyming Dictionary for Children.

The Sue Young Scholarship is given in recognition of excellent scholarship, responsible leadership and service to the university and community.

Criteria

Juniors or seniors with a 3.6 GPA or greater who demonstrate responsible leadership and give service to the university and/or the community.
