Cathryn Lee Lombardi Scholarship
History
Cathryn Lee Lombardi, wife of Dr. John V. Lombardi, was UF’s First Lady from 1990 to 1999. She earned a bachelor’s degree with a major in botany from Pomona College in California and a master’s degree in botany from Columbia University in New York. Before coming to UF, Mrs. Lombardi taught school for two years in Venezuela and then worked as a free-lance cartographer in Indiana, collaborating on various projects and co-authoring an historical atlas of Latin American history with John Lombardi. She has an abiding interest in the performing arts.
The Cathryn Lee Lombardi Scholarship is awarded annually to theater and/or dance majors.
Criteria
Juniors or seniors in the Department of Theatre and Dance with a 3.6 GPA who demonstrate responsible leadership and give service to the university and/or the community; priority given to musical theatre majors.
