Cash and Securities
Cash or securities are among the most popular types of gifts for the University of Florida.
Many of our alumni and friends make annual unrestricted contributions to the University of Florida Annual Fund. They may choose to restrict their gifts to specific programs or educational purposes, such as colleges, scholarships, faculty support or libraries and equipment.
Donors of $2,000 or more a year, restricted or unrestricted, are recognized through the University of Florida President's Council.
Checks should be payable to the University of Florida Foundation, Inc. Please indicate if you choose to restrict the purpose of your gift (e.g., a college, scholarship fund, the library, etc.)

There are significant tax advantages from contributing highly appreciated (long term) securities transferred to the foundation as a charitable gift. The value of your gift depends upon the market price of these assets when they are given. Please contact the foundation for more information on gifts of securities. You may be entitled to a significant charitable deduction on your income tax return for a gift of appreciated securities.
