Samuel P. Harn Eminent Scholar Chair Fund

History

This fund was endowed in honor of Samuel P. Harn (1893 to 1957), who was born in Bartow, FL. His wife, Gladys, and the couple's three daughters, Margaret , Mary Ann and Gladys, contributed funds in 1983 to build the Harn Museum.

Mary Ann and her husband, David A. Cofrin, established the Harn Chair in 1990 with the intent of linking the art history program in the College of Fine Arts with the Harn Museum of Art. This endowment stands out in its ability to provide recognized scholars who have distinguished records in teaching and research.
