Faculty Spotlight

The women and men teaching, doing research and leading the University of Florida are dedicated to the idea that through education and discovery they can improve the lives of not just UF students, but of people across the globe. The University of Florida Faculty Challenge is an initiative to raise $150 million in private support to give faculty the tools they need to enhance classroom instruction and conduct world-class research. Reaching that goal is a critical step in the University of Florida’s strategic plan to become one of the nation’s premier universities.

Endowments established and grown through the Faculty Challenge will help explore space, oceans and the tiny universes seen only through a microscope. Transform Florida’s elementary schools into the envy of the nation. Feed the world’s hungry. Cure ailments like cancer, epilepsy and Alzheimer’s disease. Promote the humanities in daily life. Develop cleaner, better energy alternatives. Discover and invent what we cannot imagine. And prepare future generations for the challenges of their own lives and times.

Below is a small sampling of the people who help shape the University of Florida and its students.
