Nadine M. McGuire

Nadine M. McGuire and her husband, Bill, are graduates of the University of Texas at Austin. Together, they are actively involved in projects related to global biodiversity, medical research, the arts and education. Nadine has long-standing involvement in the major public art institutions in Minneapolis where they live, the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. as a member of the National Committee for the Performing Arts, and in a variety of initiatives launched by the McGuires in support of education for socio-economically disadvantaged students.

Nadine first became involved with the University of Florida in 2001 through the Florida Museum of Natural History and the creation of the McGuire Center for Lepidoptera and Biodiversity and the Butterfly Rainforest. A few years later, following further interaction with the University and upon seeing first hand the success of earlier efforts, she turned her attention to the educational facilities and programs for theater and dance. Building on initial plans developed by the College of Fine Arts, she supported the building of new teaching, performance and office spaces along with the renovation of the historic Constans Theatre.

Facility History

The pavilion, a 46,000-square-foot, three-story addition to the Constans Theatre, is the home of the School of Theatre and Dance. Located in the heart of the UF campus, the McGuire Pavilion features a 415-seat mainstage theatre, the Black Box theatre, acting and dance studios, an expanded scenic shop, and design and light labs.
