Evelyn F. McKnight |
Evelyn F. McKnight, a nurse, established the Evelyn F. McKnight Brain Research Foundation® in 1999. Mrs. McKnight and William L. McKnight, her late husband and past chairman of the board of the 3M Corp., were interested in the effects of aging on memory. This interest inspired Mrs. McKnight to establish the Foundation as a legacy of support for research of the brain to alleviate the specific influence of age related memory loss. She continued to advocate for memory loss research until her death in 1999.
Facility History
The McKnight Brain Research Foundation gave $15 million to the UF Brain Institute 2000, which was the largest single cash gift in the university’s history.
