Honoree
Klein Harrison Graham was born in 1883 in Deer Park, MD. Graham came to Florida to attend East Florida Seminary (now the University of Florida). He also attended West Virginia University, but returned to Florida when his arthritis prevented him from playing football. After working in the banking industry for several years, he joined the University of Florida staff in 1906 as auditor, later serving as business manager until 1948. Graham also served as Treasurer of the University Athletic Association and Chair of the Florida Endowment Corporation. At the time Graham Hall was dedicated, Graham had the longest service record of any UF staff member with 42 years.
Facility History
Graham Hall was dedicated November 3, 1962 along with Simpson, Trusler, East, Rawlings and Jennings Halls. It is part of the Graham/Hume Residence Area which features a large brick barbecue pit, swimming pool, dining area and a pond retreat.
Two floors in Graham Hall are home to the Career Exploration Community which assists students in the selection of a major and career counseling. Staff from the UF Career Resource Center and the Department of Housing and Residence Education are instrumental in helping residents explore their personality traits, interests, passions, skills, abilities, academic fields of study and potential careers.
