George and Joan Steinbrenner

The Steinbrenner Band Building was made possible by a generous gift commitment from George and Joan Steinbrenner in 2002. George Steinbrenner, an American businessman, is the principal owner of Major League Baseball's New York Yankees. He graduated from Culver Military Academy, received his Bachelors of Arts from Williams College and completed post-graduate study at Ohio State University.

Facility History

The Steinbrenner Band Building was completed in 2008. Located adjacent to the Music Building, the facility serves as the band rehearsal hall and houses offices, instrument storage, the band library and an instrument issue room.
